Women in Kokonya village were not happy collecting water from a nearby stream but it was either the stream or they go without water. This was during the time when the hand pump on the well serving the village was broken, so no one was able to access clean water from the well.

Thankfully, Lifewater Canada funded the repair of the broken hand pump, so everyone in Kokonya has access to clean drinking water, and the women have gladly abandoned the stream as a source of water.
